Description:
Part of my 2024 sketchbook highlights series: I used a couple of fineline ink pens. This is another depiction of that particularly special point in the San Marcos River, where people gather like a ritual to float together each summer. It actually can be a religious experience- I've seen baptisms take place here. 
 
The happy chaos here shows me the good in humanity. There were a couple of young men playing guitar and accordian in the shade near me as I finished this sketch up. Everyone clapped when they ended a song- even the people who were busy playing in the water. This is what life is all about.
