Cedar Waxwings

Cedar Waxwings are gorgeous berry gorging birds that you never really see. Their wheezy call is easily recognizable since they stay together in big flocks that flow from tree to tree. You can watch their bobbing flight pattern. But you never really see an individual. They're a collective. So for me, I see their motion and I hear them, but their striking color patches really just happen in my head as I mentally reference back to the bird guides for their appearance.

So this painting is an abstract waxwing sighting.
