"Hanging Berries" Original Watercolor Painting

"Hanging Berries" is a memory of helping a friend decorate her new apartment in the middle of summer. I referenced a photo of my sister perched on the couch while leveling a poster.
 

Taken out of the domestic context, I imagined her posture kneeling on the ground in the shade and reaching up to pick from a loaded blackberry bush. She was wearing a Magellan fishing shirt, so she should have been doing something much more outdoorsy.

Part of my "Plant Lady" watercolor marker series where I took the basic elements of an anchoring circle, plant matter, and a female figure to make associations with a hidden personal meaning.
