Uncle's Awa Club: Kalapana, Hawai'i

In the summer of 2025, I traveled to the Big Island of Hawaii to volunteer on a permaculture farm and get inspiration from the land. One of our excursions with the farm host was down to the southernmost tip of the island where Uncle Robert's country dance kava bar held a weekly party to keep his memory alive. It was an excuse to wear my cowboy hat out on the town. The aloha was very strong here with the crowd of regulars and sweet live music and dancing. 

Stamped at the bottom of the page is the hand stamp to gain entry to the club. I flooded the floor with ocean waves and caught a few dancing ladies throughout the signage and palm trees.
